VISIT HAYDON BRIDGE

Walks

< Return to the Main Index

The areas around Haydon Bridge, including the Roman Wall, provide an excellent, unspoiled and quiet retreat for the walker.

On Saturday 8th of April 2006, 'The John Martin Heritage Trail' walk was officially opened and full details with the trail brochure can be downloaded here from these links 'Heritage Trail Brochure outer' and 'Heritage Trail Brochure inner'

This is some 12.5 miles in length covering the areas which so influenced Martin's paintings from his childhood. There are waymarks and information boards en route which can be split up into shorter sections if required. Please do remember to close those gates.
